We are all about the Halloween Spirit! Too spook up our lesson plans we learned all about spiders! We read the book Pete the cat itsy bitsy spider by James Dean and the book I’m trying to like Spiders by Bethany Barton! We loved the book! It was very interactive and funny! We stepped it up a notch by useing our play spiders to demonstrate even and odd numbers using “find 2 of them“or “make them buddies” as a way to see if the number is even or add. If one spider was left out then it was odd!
We decorated Foam cut out spiders, counting out each one had 8 eyes.

Our Spider Sensory Bin was a hit! We talked about what can get trapped in the webs and where spiders live!

The kids loved using their fingers to create the letters! I like to do this with my 3 year old because he is still learning how to trace with paper and pencil and this activity promotes the same movements! My 5 year old liked it too! You can add names or sight words for the older kids!

These plastic bag glue + glitter webs take the cake! We incorporated tracing with the glue, over a web sketch and when they dry you can take them off the bag and have an actual web!

We also colored a spider printable labeled the body parts of the spider!

Added a quick and easy spider size matching motor skill for my younger son! Eric liked it as a little brain teaser and Liam quickly felt accomplished being able to match the pompoms on the spider body.
I added Halloween themed printables for a little extra brain work!
